High Bun

This is a simple and easy protective style. All you need to do is put your hair in a high ponytail, put the ponytail through a hair doughnut/sock, wrap around and tuck the ends under. Then secure your bun with bobby pins if needed.This is the hair doughnut/sock I use but there are a variety of types. If you're worried about the doughnut/sock drying out your hair you could try cutting the feet off
